Newcastle born and bred, 29-year-old DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон)takes his musical influences from legendary DJ / producers Deep Dish, as well as the likes of Steve Lawler, Sasha and near-legendary local night Shindig. With this, James has developed a great passion for what he calls “proper house music” – deep, sexy, hypnotic grooves.

After promoting his own successful nights around Newcastle, DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) wanted to further broaden his musical horizons with an idea he had to set up his own label. This label would give him a base from which to release the music has great passion for.

Upon setting up the label, Climax Recordings, DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) has built up a good following with a varied-style release policy that has seen the label’s tracks received fantastic across-the-board support from DJ’s such as Deep Dish, John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, Chris Fortier, James Zabiela, DJ Hyper, John “Quivver” Graham and also from greatly respected producers such as Saeed & Palash, Parks & Wilson and Trendroid, to name but a few.

With the label’s ever-growing reputation, DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) has been able to call upon the services of a varied range of producers. For the earlier releases, he called upon the services of respected up-and-coming producers and remixers like Earth Deuley (Low Pressings, Addictive), FaceDown (Junior) and Hellpass (Renaissance). More recently, DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) has been able to use the label’s rapid rise to secure productions and remixes from more established names such as Mert Yucel, OkoTek, Innate, The Forth, Trafik and the legendary Mara, who have all turned out tracks and remixes for the label, the majority of which should see the light of day in 2004. Alongside this, DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) has spent time developing some of the home-grown talent he has signed to the label, such as Tim Fretwell, who after a couple of releases for Climax has gone on to remix for labels of the stature of Bedrock and ElectroFly, for artists of the likes of Pole Folder and Steve Porter, amongst many others. Paul Lancaster, a local DJ / producer and remixer, has also gone on to have a release for Cass’s Sabotage Systems label, and a track remixed by Randall Jones for the CPR label. Both Paul and Tim still maintain their roots with Climax, and will have more material out on their “roots” label in the near future. All this goes to show that DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) has an eye for talent as well as an ear for quality music.

2003 was the year that saw Climax really take-off, with Radio 1 plays from Pete Tong and Seb Fontaine, as well as tracks signed to Seb Fontaine’s new Perfecto Presents mix compilation, and also two Global Underground compilations, Steve Lawler’s Lights Out 2 and the chill-out mix Electric Calm 2.

On the DJing front, 2003 also saw DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) take two headline gigs in Italy (along with Paul Lancaster), as well as slots alongside the likes of Fabric’s Tyler Stadius and Bedrock protégé Jonathon Lisle.

Musically, DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) takes progressive, tribal and techy house sounds, adds breakbeat and then fuses them all together to make an hypnotic groove, whilst always maintaining that basic foundation of funk. He then uses this to take the dance-floor on a deep, dark and dubbed-out journey to a far away place.

This is all evidence that both DJ James Wilson (Джеймс Уилсон) and Climax Recordings have come a very long way in a relatively short space of time.

Я не злой, я очень добрый, просто сначало делаю, а потом думаю
